Winners take advantage of opportunities to gain an advantage.

Leadership and Soft Skills for Students by Cary J. Green, PhD

“Entire games often are won or lost in very brief moments. Winners in sports are those who gain an advantage, often only for a brief time. For example, how many times have you seen a basketball team go on a “ten-two run” in five minutes and then win the game by seven or eight points? The victory goes back to that brief five-minute period when they gained an advantage. You want to gain a similar advantage in life, and you can by engaging in the right opportunities. You must deliberately look for these opportunities and take advantage of them when they do come along.”
